Siddhartha Film
Thank you Universal Studios for allowing me to direct a modern adaptation of Siddhartha that will appeal to modern teenage and young adult demographics.
Channing Tatum as Siddhartha
Channing Tatum acted in 21 and 22 Jump Street, in these films he is best friends with Jonah Hill and became the "enlightened one" to find the culprit of who is causing unlawfulness, this would relate to how Siddhartha found enlightenment. He is also very handsome.
Jonah Hill as Govinda
Jonah Hill acted in 21 and 22 Jump Street, in these films he is best friends with Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill followed a different kind of group than Channing Tatum did, this would relate to how Govinda stayed with Buddha and Siddhartha went on his own path.
Emma Stone as Kamala
Emma Stone acted in the film Easy A, in this film most guys are attracted to her because she is appealing and has "sex", this would relate to how Kamala acts the same. She is also beautiful.
Philip Wiegratz as Siddhartha's son

Philip Wiegratz acted in the film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, in this film he plays a spoiled child that gets everything he wants because his family is rich, this would relate to how Siddhartha's son is very spoiled.
Morgan Freeman as Vasudeva
Morgan Freeman acted in the film Evan Almighty, in this film he played as God and helped Evan find his true self, aka enlightenment, this would apply to how Vasudeva helped Siddhartha find enlightenment. Also any movie that has Morgan Freeman is usually highly rated.
Leonardo Dicaprio as Kamaswami
Leonardo Dicaprio acted in the film The Wolf of Wall Street, in this film he was a great investor into stocks, making him very rich, this would relate to Kamaswami because he was a merchant. He is a very talented actor.
Tom Hanks as Buddha
Tom Hanks acted in the film Forrest Gump, in this film he was running across the country leading people because they thought he had the idea of the meaning of life, this would relate to Buddha because he lead many people because the people thought he knew the meaning of life.
Location
I would shoot the film in Los Angeles, because it is a city with a lot of businesses. In this city there is also a large amount of homeless people that could use some enlightenment to get back on their financial feet. This city is well known across the country so many people could understand the theme of the film.
Modern Changes
(1) A fight scene between Govinda and Siddhartha because Siddhartha would not follow Buddha and Govinda takes this as an insult. I think this change is necessary because fight scenes are always liked in films and would add more on an effect on the separation between the two best friends.
(2) Change Kamala's death into her being able to see Buddha but realize Siddhartha was the enlightened one instead and both fall in love again. I think this change is in necessary because everyone loves a happy ending.
Great casting choices - especially Siddhartha's son... your modern changes would make any producer happy!
